Chichicastenango is known in Guatemala as the center for witchcraft and Mayan Worship.   Although there are many Evangelical Churches in Chichicastenango, many pastors are illiterate and lack Biblical Training. .  Pastors are in need desperate need of sound Biblical Training.  There is a  strong division in Chichi between the Catholic and the Evangelical Church.  The Catholic Church of  this area is a amalgam of Mayan and Catholic practices.  The Mayan Gods and the Catholic saints have been combined into  its own religion.   In order for the Evangelical church to separate itself , the church has adopted many legalistic beliefs and practices but has missed the fundamental truths of the Bible and the love of Jesus.    Please pray for the church in Guatemala.
