A Few of the Summer Highlights
During dry season, the town of Chichi often runs out of water. For several years, we (Global Development) have been working to give a parcel of land to the town of Chichi in order that they may build a new water tank —supplying more water to the people. One might think donating land would be an easy task—unfortunately no, but after two years of negotiating with the town, papers were signed and the town now owns a new piece of land for a new water tank.
Mission Outfitters, Colorado brought a team of 26 and built widow’s homes.
Roswell Presbyterian, Atlanta, GA brought a team of 72. A few members of the team performed surgeries at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Some members of the team put on a Vacation Bible school while others did construction on houses as well as the hospital. Oak Hills Church, San Antonio, TX. Approximately 25-30 people came this summer from San Antonio to evangelize and to perform dental clinics in the villages.
First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach. Its always a joy to have one of our home churches visit and bless us with their company. First Pres. brought a team of approximately 30 people in order to do construction on a sports field at the Christian School in town, put on an English camp for students in Chichi, and help build a fence for the new onsite bilingual pre-school.
Alleghany Center Alliance Church, Pittsburgh, PA brought 38 high school students. Part of the group put on a vacation bible school for a public school in a nearby village, while others worked on 3 different construction projects.
